Antep Pistachios (for Snacking)

Antep Pistachios (for Snacking)

Tufan Organik Antep Pistachios (for Snacking), part of the Nuts and Nut Products group, are a natural food originating from Gürün/Sivas.

Snacking Antep Pistachios for Delightful Tea Breaks

For Gürün/Sivas-based Tufan Organik, the Antep pistachio is one of the flavors most closely identified with Gaziantep's cuisine. Snacking pistachios are set aside to be enjoyed as a snack. The green and purple-tinged kernel peeking out from the half-open shell is mildly sweet and richly aromatic; its texture is both crunchy and slightly oily.

It comes to the table during tea-time conversations, when hosting guests, or as a small snack during the day. As enjoyable as it is to crack open, the kernels removed from the shell can also be used in desserts and dishes. Served in a bowl, it adds color to the table and, as an easy-to-serve nut, finds its place there in every season.

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve in a bowl with evening tea, and place a separate plate next to it for the empty shells.
  • Coarsely chop the shelled kernels and sprinkle them over rice pudding, milk pudding or ice cream.
  • Add a handful of pistachio kernels to rice or bulgur pilaf at the last moment for color and crunch.
