Menengiç Coffee (Terebinth Coffee)

Menengiç Coffee (Terebinth Coffee)

Tufan Organik Menengiç Coffee, part of the Nuts and Nut Products group, is a natural food originating from Gürün/Sivas.

Menengiç Coffee from Roasted Berries

Menengiç Coffee is made from the roasted berries of the menengiç tree, also known as the wild pistachio (terebinth). It has a dark, oily consistency and a resinous, slightly nutty aroma. It leaves a velvety foam in the cup; its taste is clearly different from regular coffee and makes itself known from the very first sip.

At Tufan Organik, we bring this beloved drink of hospitality tables to your cup. Menengiç coffee is usually cooked with milk in a small coffee pot over low heat while stirring, and taken off the heat once it begins to foam. You can sweeten it with sugar if you like, or use water in place of some of the milk for a lighter cup.

Serving Suggestions

  • Cook with milk in a coffee pot and serve with Turkish delight or dried fruit.
  • Prepare it with water and try a lighter cup in the afternoon.
  • On winter evenings, sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon on top and serve piping hot.
