Couscous

Couscous

Tufan Organik Couscous from the Pasta Products range, a natural food with roots in Gürün/Sivas.

Couscous with Its Tiny Grains

Couscous is a type of pasta with small, round grains, used in many recipes from pilafs to salads. When cooked, the grains stay separate and offer a slightly al dente texture. Thanks to its mild flavor, it pairs easily with meat, chicken or vegetable dishes and readily absorbs sauces.

At Tufan Organik, we recommend couscous for anyone looking for a practical yet filling side dish. You can lightly toast it in butter, then add hot water or meat stock and cook it pilaf-style; left to rest, it turns out fluffy with separate grains. You can also boil and drain it for use in cold salads.

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve couscous pilaf toasted in butter alongside sautéed chicken or pan-fried meat.
  • Prepare a colorful couscous salad with pomegranate seeds, parsley, spring onions and pomegranate molasses.
  • Cook it in a tomato paste sauce and top with fire-roasted eggplant cubes for a one-pot meal.
