Andız Pekmez: A Traditional Taste with a Resinous Aroma
Andız Pekmez is a traditional, dark-colored pekmez with a distinctive aroma, made from the berries of the andız (Syrian juniper) tree. While sweet, it carries slightly resinous and woody notes; in this respect it is easily distinguished from fruit pekmez. It may seem unusual at first taste, but for its fans this character is the product's most defining feature.
Andız pekmez is one of the traditional flavors passed down from generation to generation in Türkiye, yet less known today. By adding this product to the pekmez varieties it offers from Gürün/Sivas, Tufan Organik brings it to those curious about old flavors.
